Breast Cancer Awareness

It’s October and that means you’re probably seeing pink EVERYWHERE! It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and we are going pink to support the cause. 2018 marks our third consecutive year supporting breast cancer awareness through our account opening campaign. During the month of October we will donate $10 for each new account opened to local breast cancer awareness organizations. You may also see employees in pink shirts and blue jeans on Wednesday, October 24th to show their support through our casual for a cause initiative.
Early detection is SO important and we’re proud to support Breast Cancer Awareness – Cumberland Valley and the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund, who provide resources for our communities’ to aid in early detection and offering support for those suffering. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, when breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 100%. Early detection includes doing monthly breast self-exams, and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms.*
New cases of Breast Cancer are estimated to exceed 268,000 in 2018 alone** but these two organizations are making sure the community has the resources and support that are needed. For more information visit the following sites.
