Careers in Banking Part 2
August 2, 2024
This month’s social media and blog series on banking careers highlights some of the primary responsibilities of those who work in facilities, customer care, deposit services, human resources and training, and lending, and how each department is crucial to the Bank’s success.
Facilities
The Facilities team works to ensure employees have sufficient space and supplies to perform their duties in a safe, clean environment. They are responsible for maintenance coordination, which occasionally includes the remodeling of Bank buildings and grounds. Facilities also manages the Bank’s supply inventory, ordering system, and distribution chain, and ensures purchase approvals and payment processes are efficient.
Customer Care
The Customer Care team (CCT) answers a large portion of the Bank’s incoming calls, monitors and responds to online banking messages, and manages the daily oversight of the Company referral system. If you have ever reached out to the Bank, there is a good chance you have had the opportunity to speak with one of the awesome members of this team!
Deposit Services
Deposit Services includes both the Deposit Operations and Electronic Banking departments. Deposit Operations’ primary responsibilities include support of deposit products, account servicing inquiries and maintenance, quality control, and support of the Bank's interactive phone inquiry system.
Electronic Banking's primary responsibilities include cash management, transaction file processing, wire transfers, and remote deposit capture. Additionally, Electronic Banking manages debit cards, online banking accounts, and eStatements, and ensures ATMs and teller drawers are in balance daily.
HR & Training
The Human Resources (HR) team is responsible for recruitment and onboarding, maintaining employee and employer relationships, compensation and benefits, and employment laws and regulations. They are a trusted resource for team members. HR partners with Training and management to ensure new employees are successfully onboarded.
The Training & Development team recognizes opportunities and partners with various team members to implement training to help employees acquire new skills or improve current skills. Training also provides professional development support to help build and cultivate employees.
Lending
The Commercial Lending team partners with many other departments to offer a wide range of lending services and to match businesses with the products they need to succeed. They build lasting relationships with customers and help our local communities grow and prosper. The Commercial team also includes Cash Management, which provides business customers real-time access to information and resources such as remote deposit capture, scanners, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
The Residential Mortgage Lending team offers financing to buy homes, build homes, or refinance homes. The team is comprised of loan officers, processors, underwriters, and post closers – all of whom work to give our customers the best possible experience.
